- Where possible, to use energy from sustainable sources.
Minimise COČ emissions
- Give priority to energy efficiency investments
- Consider life-cycle energy costs for all new projects
- Commit organisational resources to energy management
- Use energy efficiently and economically in order to reduce energy costs and keep costs low
- Minimise environmental impact
- Implement a regular programme of energy audits
- Set and publish performance improvement targets
- Report performance changes and improvements annually
- Identify all cost-effective energy efficiency measures
- Establish a monitoring and targeting system
- Provide regular management reports on costs and consumption
- Establish a budget for investing in energy efficiency
- Increase staff awareness
- Nominate employees to act as departmental energy officers
- Reduce consumption of energy by 5% of total units of energy delivered over three years
- Reduce energy consumption to typical/good practice benchmark levels within three years
- Purchase in excess of 90% of our energy from green sources
- Specify energy efficient design of new buildings, and procure energy efficient plant and equipment
- Publish a corporate energy policy
- Achieve accreditation under Energy Efficiency Accreditation Scheme
