The Environmental Policy of Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society Ltd.

The Opening Statement Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society Ltd recognises that our operations have an effect on the local, regional and global environment.
Commitment to Pollution Prevention We recognise however that our day to day operations will inevitably have an impact on the environment in a number of ways and we wish to minimise the potentially harmful effects of such activity wherever and whenever possible.

Communication to Staff We have undertaken to help every Chelmsford Star employee to understand and to implement the relevant aspects of this policy in their day to day duties through the regular communication of objectives, action plans and achievements.
Commitment to Legislative Compliance Minimum environment standards of performance will be set by environmental regulations, laws and codes of practice.
Commitment to Continuous Improvement Chelmsford Star is committed to continuous improvements in environmental performance by following environmental best practice, wherever practical, and, within the resources available in all of its activities and in the provision of its services to its members and customers. The policy will be reviewed on an annual basis to ensure that the Society is up to date with the latest environmental issues.
Reporting Progress towards the Society’s environmental goals will be reported on an annual basis in the Society’s Social report at the AGM of the Society.
